River Cruising

Hi Mike, we have not taken a river cruise (or any cruise for that matter) but feel that this is more our style since we don't care about traveling on a huge city full of casinos and things we coud do at home. We have not booked yet. I have been working with Lorene. She is great. I'm afraid we have been kind of wishy washy about time of year but are becoming more clear. I will get back with her soon. I hope that this website will provide me with lots of information important and mundane. Thanks… Continue

10 River Cruises to Remember

A mirage vibrates on the sandy horizon. The scent of African roses perfumes the air. Water buffalo grunt and graze on the grassy banks of the Nile as ancient Pyramids cast their shadows. These may be the scene-setting details of a typical afternoon aboard Cleopatra's royal barge, but they’re not so different from Nile river cruises today.

Wherever you travel—Egypt, Europe, China, the U.S.—cruising on rivers and canals may well be one of the last leisurely modes of transportation.… Continue

Cruise Lines battle for the Mekong

If you believe the industry hype, river cruising is riding the rocket of small ship and adventure products in a rapidly growing cruise market. I tend to agree. The anecdotal evidence points to more travellers seeking out products away from the traditional sea and coastal routes and looking inland to the great waterways.

One of the most famous Asian rivers, the Mekong, is set to stage a great showdown as operators from all over the globe take on locals in their own “warships” in an…Continue

Rivals weigh in on Deilmann’s departure from river cruising

Have clients interested in a Nile Cruise and am looking at Uniworld, Avalon and Viking. Does anyone have experience with any of these companies and their Nile cruises. Have experience with Europe and China cruises, but not Nile/Egypt. It seems that the Nile river ships are not owned by the booking company. Thank you in advance for any feedback Cindy @ cdcruises.com
